Project Description:
30 ft Deep Underground Research Facility.  The area to be excavated was enclosed on four sides by existing buildings, as close as 10 feet from the excavation. The Top-Down excavation method was chosen on this project to maximize working space at ground level. Over 30,000 cubic yards of soil were excavated from within an existing courtyard, without disruption to the adjacent facilities.
